Program Overview

The Strathmore provides male residents (ages 18 and over) with a comfortable, safe and structured environment in which to recover from addictive issues. While the staff at The Strathmore House is available for support in this process, it is important that residents are able and willing to be accountable for their daily responsibilities. This program is a stepping stone towards living in an independent manner. Program expectations are intended to empower each resident to begin to access internal motivation and to accomplish personal goals that can lead to long-term recovery.

There are numerous options in sober living programs and the decision making process may feel overwhelming. Many programs utilize similar treatment plans and length of stay requirements for all residents. However, what sets The Strathmore House apart is our unique ability to customize services, mutual-help meetings, structure and length of stay to the needs of the individual. This allows residents to feel ownership over their care and to integrate more effectively back into their lives and the community.

The Strathmore House staff members meet regularly with residents to gain an understanding of what their needs may be in terms of life skills, their recovery program (i.e., self-help meeting attendance, current sponsor, etc.), outside clinical services and in creating a balanced behavioral schedule.
